Oranges to Fabric – It Pays to be Radical

It was interesting to read the BBC’s report “How Sicilian oranges are being made into clothes.” It was amazing to learn how a design student, Adriana Santonocito,  had discovered how to make fabric from orange rind!   Adriana had then gone on to build a successful business from this and this year Italian fashion label Salvatore Ferragamo used it in his spring-summer collection. It just goes to show sometimes you have to take a innovative view to move forwards. This philosophy is also discussed in our tip “Take a Radical Approach to Planning” and how planning sometimes needs to move your business forward in leaps and bounds rather than “tiny tippy-toe advances.”
