Plan Intellectual Property into your creation
A great dilemma facing all inventors and described by the BBC News is “The great intellectual property trade-off.” It explains how intellectual property is an “ economic trade-off, a balancing act. If it’s too generous to the creators, then good ideas will take too long to copy, adapt and spread. If it’s too stingy, then maybe we won’t see the good ideas at all.” This balancing act is also proportional to the size and importance of the creation and perhaps in the planning stages it might be worth considering the intellectual property that it is worth putting in place. Having said that, as the article points out, different countries have different views of Intellectual property and a creation has global potential it is much harder to control.
