It is clear from reading the Guardian’s article “shoppers desert UK high streets, putting more jobs at risk” that somewhere the planning strategy for many high street chains has gone wrong. There are a number of companies where their presence in the high street is at an end or due to reduce. Obviously there are a number of factors that have given rise to this situation but could better planning have helped?
